The Somerville Civic League was founded in 1919 by Dr. Mary Gaston.
Our Mission is to support our community through volunteerism and service.
The Civic League was well known for its work for the community at large in beautification and helping those in need.
That work continues today along with providing scholarships, supporting other non-profit groups and community projects.
The club is open to all women who wish to volunteer their time and efforts to create a better life in Somerville for all residents.

Neighbors helping neighbors through service, support and community
We offer a variety of programs supporting our schools, seniors, and the greater community. When a need arises, we’re proud to step in—whether assisting emergency management, supporting our downtown, partnering with local police, or helping in our schools.
The Somerville Civic League is the heart of our town. Our dedication to service is unmatched whether it's supporting local schools, helping families in need, bringing neighbors together. Our League is always looking to lend a hand. They embody compassion, leadership and generosity making Somerville a stronger and more connected place to live. We are grateful for the incredible woman who continue to give their time and talents to keep this tradition of service alive.
